Learning to rest and let body and mind play freely without us.
- Set the body in an upright position that is stable, safe and comfortable.
- The eyes are left open, looking downward at a spot on the floor that is about as far in front of you as the distance from the head to the floor.
- After a few minutes when the experience has settled a bit let the gaze naturally settle to where it feels most intuitively comfortable. This may be looking towards the floor, the horizon, or upwards.
- Rest and let body and mind play.
- Notice any sensations and activities that take place while remaining at rest and notice that you have not chosen or initiated them.
- For the duration of the practice period remain at rest and simply let the body and mind play however they like.
- Learn the feeling of the natural, resting, effortless awareness that occurs while remaining uninvolved with all that plays out. See how much this can be lived from within daily life.
